Celebrity Big Brother 7 has 'hell' theme



The final series of Celebrity Big Brother has "fiery plans" for its competitors, it has been confirmed.

'Hell Lies In Others' is the tagline for the upcoming seventh series, which kicks off on Sunday, January 3 on Channel 4.

Producers have promised that "notable" and "notorious" celebrities will enter the show. They also claimed that the housemates will be in for "the most unpredictable and unforgettable weeks of their lives".

"This is no holiday camp for pampered personalities; Celebrity Big Brother won't be leaving the limelight quietly," said executive producer Shirley Jones.

'90s rapper MC Hammer, Hollywood Madam Heidi Fleiss and Culture Club pop icon Boy George are among the stars rumoured to be taking part in the show.

O'Sullivan to skip Masters for Big Brother?



Three-times world snooker champion Ronnie O'Sullivan is set to turn down the chance to defend his Masters title at Wembley next month so that he can compete on Celebrity Big Brother, according to a leading bookmaker.

None of the contestants have yet been confirmed by Channel 4 for the reality show, but Paddy Power have made 'The Rocket' the clear 2/1 favourite to win the contest ahead of other rumoured housemates such as Pamela Anderson and MC Hammer.

Celebrity Big Brother begins on January 3rd and usually runs for over three weeks, while the Masters takes place from the 10th to the 17th.

The same bookmaker stills lists O'Sullivan as favourite to win the Masters, but his odds to win that tournament (5/2), are greater than to win in the Big Brother house.

Just last month fellow snooker legend Jimmy White missed the UK Championship qualifiers so that he could compete on "I'm a Celebrity...Get me Out of Here."

O'Sullivan has won the Masters, which in terms of prize money is the biggest snooker tournaments outside of the World Championship, four times in his career.

He was awarded £150,000 for beating Mark Selby 10-8 in last year's final at Wembley.

Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power said, "Ronnie is a genius at the snooker table but more importantly he's a colourful and unpredictable character off the table the perfect recipe for Big Brother success!"

Paddy Power have also offered a number of other "Rocket Specials" ahead of his rumoured stay in the house including odds of 10/1 that he will 'snog Pamela Anderson in the house'.

Dane Bowers tipped for Celeb BB



Dane Bowers has become the latest name tipped to take part in the final series of Celebrity Big Brother.

Producers apparently want the former Another Level popstar to speak out about his relationship with Katie Price inside the house.

Bowers, 30, romanced Price in 2000 and a sex tape featuring the duo was famously leaked online. The singer split from his wife and agent Chrissy Johnston earlier this year.

Other celebrities tipped to take part in the show include MC Hammer, Boy George, Heidi Fleiss and Paul Danan. Earlier this week, the eye logo for the seventh series was revealed, while producers confirmed that the programme will have a "hell" theme.

McCall wants Tiger Woods for Celeb BB



Davina McCall has claimed that golfer Tiger Woods would be her fantasy Celebrity Big Brother contestant.

The Channel 4 show host said that recent allegations about Woods's infidelity would make him a perfect housemate.

"Right now [my dream housemate] would be Tiger Woods. Amazing!" she told Sky.

However, McCall insisted that she would not reveal any of the talent signed up for the show, arguing that it ruins the build-up for fans.

"As a huge fan of the programme I get upset about leaks because I think as a viewer it ruins it," she said. "People that love Big Brother get excited about watching people walk out of the car. And when you don't know what's happening in a task it's much more exciting. So I don't want to ruin it."

CELEBRITY Big Brother contestants are to be set tasks by TV stars - in a bid to perk up the last ever series.

Countdown's Rachel Riley, 23, has already signed up to test housemates' maths skills.

Producers are also eyeing Location Location Location host Kirstie Allsopp, 36, who could set contestants homemaking tasks.

And chefs such as Jamie Oliver, 34, could give cooking challenges.

The stars will enter the Big Brother compound to speak to the contestants - a first for the show.

An insider said: "The plan is to surprise the celebs and do something different.

"The tasks are one of the most popular parts of the show and producers have been thinking how to spice them up."

The celebrities are due to enter the house on January 3.

Among those thought to have signed up are Boy George, 48, and Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss, 43. MC Hammer, 47, and Pamela Anderson, 42, are also in talks.

Bosses have pledged to spend more on fewer stars to make the last series the best ever.

Ivana Trump tipped as Celeb BB housemate



Ivana Trump has signed up for the new series of Celebrity Big Brother, according to a report.

The 60-year-old socialite agreed to take part in the Channel 4 reality show after producers "broke the bank" for her deal, the Daily Star claims.

Czech-born Ivana is best known as the ex-wife of top US tycoon Donald Trump. The pair tied the knot in 1977 but went on to part ways in 1991.

More recently, she married Rossano Rubicondi, who is 24 years her junior, but they separated in September 2008 after just a few months together.

Celebrity Big Brother will return for its final series on January 3. Producers have promised that "notable" and "notorious" stars will enter the house.

CELEBRITY Big Brother bosses are so desperate to get Peter Andre on the final series they have told him to “name his price”.

The show’s producers are throwing huge amounts of cash at the pop star – up to £500,000 so far.

They want him in the BB house to dish the dirt on his failed marriage to Jordan, 31.

The model, real name Katie Price, was recently paid a whopping £350,000 for her jungle stint on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!

Big Brother bosses are now offering “obscene” amounts of cash to get Pete on the reality show, fronted by Davina McCall.

A CBB source revealed: “Pete would be a massive scoop for Big Brother.

“He’d be a huge ratings winner and would certainly prove a bigger hit than Katie was in the jungle. Pete’s the celebrity at the very top of the show’s hit list and they’ve told him to name any price he wants.

“ITV tried to get him into the jungle and failed, so they know how big it would be to get him into the house.”

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Star Sunday Peter would not be drawn on a possible CBB appearance, saying he had various reality show offers on the table.

But the main stumbling block is that doting dad Peter is planning to take his children to Australia for a holiday at around the same time as the show.

Those plans have sparked a row with Katie, who is ready to fight a legal battle to keep the youngsters here.

Despite that, Peter is still hopeful of a break – with or without the children.


He said: “This year has been so full-on, I’m looking forward to taking a week or two off.”

Looking back on his eventful 2009, the 36-year-old singer said: “This has been such a rollercoaster year.

“From a personal point of view it has been the worst year of my life but professionally it has been unbelievable.

“I’m happier in a career point of view than ever before.

“The level of support I have received from people has just been incredible.”

In the last year he has been transformed from “Jordan’s less famous husband” to one of Britain’s biggest pop stars and most popular faces.

But he still has not gone on a date since his marriage split.

Peter explained: “I just haven’t felt ready but hopefully 2010 will change all that.

“I do get a lot of offers, though, and not just for dates. I get people sending pictures asking me to marry them. They even turn up on my door with food and cakes to ask me out, which is so sweet.”

He is now looking forward to 2010, with a sell-out tour, a new telly series and cookery books all in the pipeline.

And he is set to go head to head with Katie in the children’s books market.

The Aussie said: “I can’t wait for next year. I’m absolutely thrilled with the response to my tour.

“It’s incredible to think the dates have sold out and more dates have had to be added due to the demand. I really didn’t know how the fans’ response was going to be when I first decided to release an album, so this is like a dream come true.

“It’s been so huge that I’ve been asked to do a full arena tour and also tour Australia and Europe.

“I’ve got some children’s and cookery books coming out as well, so it’s going to be pretty amazing.”

McCall 'shocked' by Big Brother axe



Davina McCall has admitted that she is "overwhelmingly sad" about the end of Big Brother.

Channel 4 announced in August that it will stop broadcasting the programme when the eleventh series finishes next year.

In an interview with The Mirror, McCall said: "I found out about two weeks before the end of this year's series that next year would be the last series. It was a real shock and I felt overwhelmingly sad. I did all I could not to cry. As soon as I put the phone down, I burst into tears.

"Luckily [my husband] Matthew was there. He was so sweet and gave me a big cuddle and reassured me everything was going to be OK. I don't know where I would be without him - he is my absolute rock."

McCall admitted that there have been negative aspects to working on the show, explaining that the death threats she received during the last series had shaken her.

"It was very scary and I always take anything like that seriously," she said. "The police were brilliant and dealt with it quickly. I probably wouldn't be so upset if it wasn't for the children - I just want to make sure they are safe."

However, McCall insisted that she will miss the programme.

"I felt shocked, then sad, then resigned, then nostalgic," she said. "I thought it would go on forever. I thought it was a great format. But it's been a bit of a hot potato for them - and probably the most controversial show I've worked on."

Images of the Celebrity Big Brother 7 garden have been published in the Daily Star. Aerial shots show that the pool has been replaced by a sauna, the bus stop removed and a shelter in it’s place and the garden has had a make-over!

This show’s that the garden has had a big change, so who knows, inside of the house could of completely changed. Rumours speculate that the Diary Room has been moved from under the entrance stairs to another part of the house, through the garden.

Big Brother is still also trying to get Jedward apart of the Celebrity show in January.

Boy George appeals Celeb BB court ban



Boy George has appealed against a decision by the probation service banning him from appearing on Celebrity Big Brother.

The former Culture Club singer, real name George O'Dowd, had his request refused by London Probation as he is still on licence and wears an electronic tag.

O'Dowd was released four months into serving a 15-month sentence for imprisoning a male escort.

The High Court appeal, expected today, has been postponed until tomorrow as the 28-year-old's barrister is stuck in Amsterdam because of the bad weather.

In a statement, the Ministry of Justice said that the "application for judicial review will be heard against a decision by London Probation not to allow George O'Dowd, who is under licence supervision, to appear on the reality show Celebrity Big Brother".

It added: "London Probation is defending its position and it is not appropriate to comment further before the outcome of the judicial review."

Channel 4 confirmed that producers were in talks with O'Dowd about appearing on the show but could not comment on the case.

Former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson, US rapper MC Hammer and Peter Andre are all rumoured to be appearing in the seventh and final celebrity series.

Celebrity Big Brother begins on Channel 4 on January 3.

George Lamb: 'We'll send BB out on high'



George Lamb has declared that he intends to send Big Brother out on a high note next year.

The long-running reality show begins its final celebrity series in January. The Celebrity Big Brother's Little Brother host said that the production team have big plans for the programme's swansong.

Addressing the public backlash against the show in recent years, Lamb said: "With anything that's done as brilliantly as Big Brother has done, people always want to knock it.

"So people built it up into this phenomenon, and then they try and knock it down. But I think this year, people will be a bit more honest about watching it and enjoying it. Everybody always tells me they're not watching it, but then they'll start asking me specific questions about various people."

Lamb continued to say that he believes the programme's final run will be embraced by viewers, adding: "I think this year they'll be a really nostalgic feeling, and people will realise how much they do love it and will miss it. We'll certainly be trying to make Big Brother's Little Brother the best we've ever made it, for both Celebrity BBLB and in the summer."

McCall: 'I've never missed a BB episode'



Davina McCall has claimed to have never missed an episode of Big Brother.

The celebrity version of the Channel 4 reality show, which begins its seventh and final series next month, will once again be hosted by McCall, who admitted that she is still obsessed with the programme.

"I've not missed one episode. Ever," she affirmed. " every single night. Or I'll Sky+ it.

"If I've missed two, I'll watch three in a night. I've never, ever missed one. So that's quite a dedication of time. I know these programmes - once you get hooked in - require the same amount of dedication from you, so I just can't do it."

McCall revealed last week that she is "overwhelmingly sad" about the end of Big Brother.

Katie Price has given her ex-boyfriend Alex Reid the go ahead to appear on Celebrity Big Brother, but could he be meeting up with Katie’s other past lovers?

Price dumped Reid after her appearance on I’m A Celebrity.., and the cage fighter has reportedly been offered £150,000 to go on the final Celebrity Big Brother.

Despite their split, Reid has been given strict instructions on his bevaviour and what he says, but at the same time he wants people to see he’s a good guy.

A source said to The Mirror: “She has been giving him tips on how to handle the media and what to say when he goes on Celeb Big Brother. Obviously Katie doesn’t want him revealing intimate secrets about herself or their relationship.

“She’s told him to be careful about what he says and not let CBB bosses ply him with drink in the hope that he starts spouting off.

“Alex has promised her he won’t be getting hammered on the show and that he won’t discuss Katie’s divorce from Peter Andre. Certain subjects are off limits and that’s one of them.

“Alex is articulate and wants Britain to see just why she fell for him. He is a genuinely good guy.”

Popstar Peter Andre has spoke of the recent rumours that he has been offered £500k to go on Celebrity Big Brother.

Andre, who has been through a tough media-frenzied divorce from model Katie Price this year, was reportedly told by Channel 4 bosses to name his price.

The Australian singer has taken to his Twitter page to deny the rumours, stating: “Just to let you know that I am 100% definately (sic) NOT going on Big Brother.”

So, at least that’s cleared up. Do you think he found out Alex Reid was offered a place?

Shirley Jones reveals CBB secrets

Celebrity Big Brother executive producer Shirley Jones has given an insight in to the upcoming series in a press interview.

She talks about what’s in store for viewers and the housemates, her role in the production team, finding celebrities to take part and her favourite moments from past series. Here’s the chat in full…

What is your role on Celebrity Big Brother?

I’m the Executive Producer. My role is to come up with a vision for the show – the look and the feel of it, to put a cast together and steer a way through it. I work closely with Phil (Philip Edgar Jones), the creative director, and oversee all the different elements of it. We look after the launch show, nominations, how we change things, the tasks, and hopefully deliver a compelling show.

This being the last ever Celebrity Big Brother, are there plans afoot to give it a spectacular send-off?

I hope so! We’ve tried really hard to look at the show with fresh eyes to assess what we can improve upon, and what we can change, especially with this being the last one. We have introduced some changes, in the house, in the tasks, and with the launch show, which will be a bit different this year. We hope those changes will be surprising and unexpected. We’ve changed some little things this time as well. In the past six years, celebrities have been limited to just one suitcase. But there’s something quite interesting about letting them decide how much luggage they bring. What they bring says something about them. But that doesn’t mean it’ll be an easy ride. I think a lot of people feel that the celebrities get an easier time compared with the guys in the summer, and it’s not going to happen this time. I think they’re going to be in for a bit of a rollercoaster ride. We intend to go out with a bang.

Will it be a new house?

Usually Celebrity Big Brother uses the house from the summer series but there are some big changes this year. That’s all I am going to say right now though!

How do you go about recruiting for Celebrity Big Brother?

We have our celebrity bookers, and we all come up with a list of people we’d be interested in meeting. It can be difficult with celebrities, by the very nature of what they do, you don’t always get to know the real person underneath. Part of the beauty of Celebrity Big Brother is trying to peel off those layers and find the real person beneath the celebrity. So we want a mix of ages, genders, professions, backgrounds. Ideally we’d like celebrities who have never met one another, but it’s very difficult to be 100 per cent certain of who knows who. It’s an interesting challenge to get it right – do you provide great names that might not be as exciting as you hoped, or do you find lesser-known people who are great characters? It’s all a bit of a juggling process, but we are confident we have a diverse mix of people who we think will make for compulsive viewing.

What precautions do you take to keep housemates’ identities secret before the launch show? It must be like MI6 there.

It is! It’s one of those things where you can get someone confirmed right at the start, and then you’ve got to keep it a secret for five months. It’s really hard. Only a small handful of people know the identity of the celebrities we’ve booked. You have to trust people to keep it secret. We like people to be entertained and surprised on launch night. We even use code names for them: they stop being known by their real names. There’s always speculation, and there always will be, some of it’s pretty good and some is quite far off the mark. At some points in the past, the press has got absolutely the right person, but even then you never know if it’s just guesswork or if they somehow found out.

How far in advance is the final line-up confirmed? Have you ever found yourself desperately trying to recruit celebrities at the last minute?

We try as hard as we can to get them booked as far in advance as we can. But it’s an ongoing process, piecing together the right mix of people. I don’t think we’ve ever had to look for people at the last minute, but sometimes we decide who to choose from our list quite late on.

Has it been easier to get celebrities involved this year because it’s the final year of the show?

Yes. A lot of people have turned out to be interested this year, some of whom have really surprised us. They’ve said that as it’s the last one, they’re interested. That’s really nice, because it means we’ve got a wider pool of celebrities to choose from.

One of the most popular elements of the show over the years has been the tasks. Can we look forward to the usual creative brilliance on that front?

The task teams have worked so hard to be even more creative than they’ve ever been. I think this series will have some very interesting and unique tasks, the likes of which we’ve never had on the show before. I think people expect the getting dressed up in costumes and performing, but it’s worth staying tuned to see what we’re going to put them through, because it will be different.

The filming process must be pretty intensive for you. How much time do you spend on site during the series?

I’ll be there every day. Every waking moment is spent on the series. Even if I’m not there, I’m on call 24 hours a day. I’ve written off January already. But when you’re there, you don’t really want to leave it, to be honest. You just sit there watching what’s going on in the house, and it’s really hard to leave it. I’m really excited about it; the whole team’s excited about it.

What have been your favourite Celebrity Big Brother moments over the years?

There are always the ones that stand out that everybody chooses, and I’m going to be really predictable and say the same ones. I loved John McCririck, he was a great housemate. And the moment Jackie Stallone entered was superb, especially because we’d planned it. George Galloway being the cat, and George and Pete Burns doing the robotics were brilliant. Last year, Verne Troyer crashing into the diary room door on his scooter. Every series you hope you’re going to get that YouTube moment where you want to watch it over and over again, and you laugh every time you see it.

What, to your mind, would make the perfect Celebrity Big Brother this time around?

I’m looking forward to seeing the celebrities doing some of these new tasks, because they’re really going to be something to watch! I want a bit of unpredictability, and we always want some laughs. Everyone always says “Oh, you just want people to fight all the time,” and actually that’s not really true. We want it to entertain, and seeing a celebrity do something that’s funny is great. I hope that it’s going to be a bit of a rollercoaster, and I hope that we go out with a bang. The best thing would be if we could finish and people say “I’m sorry that’s gone.” If we leave on a high and we’ve all had fun and it’s been an entertaining ride, then I think we’ve all done our job.

House undergoing ‘big changes’

‘Big changes’ are being made to the Big Brother house for the new Celebrity series, it has been revealed.

The news comes after the Daily Star published the first aerial images of the new garden, showing that the ‘bus stop’ and pool have been removed, and the lounge has been cut off.

Executive producer Shirley Jones commented: “Usually Celebrity Big Brother uses the house from the summer series but there are some big changes this year.

“That’s all I am going to say right now though!”

Meanwhile, for the first time, the housemates will be allowed to take as much luggage in to the house as they wish.

In all previous series, contestants have only been allowed to fill only one suitcase with their belongings.

However, there are still restrictions on what they can take in with them, with writing materials, electronics, clocks and watches among banned items.

Jones said: “In the past six years, celebrities have been limited to just one suitcase. But there’s something quite interesting about letting them decide how much luggage they bring.

“What they bring says something about them. But that doesn’t mean it’ll be an easy ride.”

Shirley added that the series’ launch show, which airs on January 3rd at 9.00pm on Channel 4, will be ‘a bit different’.

Boy George's CBB hopes blocked by courts



Boy George has lost the opportunity to appear in the final series of Celebrity Big Brother after courts refused to change the terms of his probation, Sky News reports.

The singer and DJ had previously been turned down by a probation officer on December 9.

Having unsuccessfully challenged the original refusal, his lawyer maintained that George recognised he "wholly deserved" the 15 month prison sentence.

The 48-year-old had been jailed for handcuffing and beating a male escort last year.

Richard Clayton from the Probation Service said that the criminal justice system would have been undermined if the star was to earn "a lucrative sum of money" from the show.

Reports suggest that the ex-Culture Club singer, real name George O'Dowd, had already agreed a £200,000 fee to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house in January.

Michelle Mone 'says no to CBB'



Michelle Mone has revealed that she will not be entering the Celebrity Big Brother house for its final series.

The lingerie tycoon, who owns MJM International, confirmed the news to Ewen Cameron and Alan Rough on Real Radio.

"I think it's a good show and everything, it's just not for me. I don't think it's appropriate for a businesswoman to be in there.

"Plus I've got many projects next year, I'm going to LA in January for a big TV thing".

However, Mone revealed that she and her agent had considered the offer, and that she still remains interested in other reality shows.

"Yeah, when you're talking about all the money I could possibly give away to charity.

"I might do one of them, I was going to do Dancing On Ice, but I do like to cook, so you never know what might be coming up.

"It has to be the right TV show, that's why I love The Apprentice."

Boy George: 'CBB offered me £400K'



Boy George has revealed that Celebrity Big Brother bosses had offered him £400,000 to appear in the show's last ever series.

Reports claim that the ex-Culture Club singer, who was yesterday officially banned from any involvement in the Channel 4 programme, was to be the highest paid housemate by some margin.

He is quoted by The Sun as saying: "Celebrity Big Brother would have been a good earner as I was being offered £400,000 and my ability to work has been restricted for the past two years. But there's much more to life than money. Other opportunities will arise.

"I'm not overly upset. I was always in two minds about whether it was the right move.

"The decision seems slightly unfair because I'm pretty close to the end of my sentence and feel I've done everything and more to adhere to the rules."

Boy George 'could still enter house'



Boy George may still enter the Celebrity Big Brother house for one day only, a report has claimed.

The former Culture Club star yesterday lost a bid to have the terms of his probation changed for him to be a full-time housemate on the Channel 4 programme.

Following the setback, show producers are now looking at other ways for the singer to be involved in the final series, according to the Daily Star.

An insider said: "There is a loophole. There is nothing stopping him from going into the house for a few hours. The idea is George will join the celebs for a task, probably a singing challenge."

Last year, Boy George was sentenced to 15 months behind bars after being found guilty of falsely imprisoning a male escort. He was later released after four months and remains under the control of the probation service.

Comic Relief to benefit from CBB7



Channel 4 has announced that Comic Relief will be the benefitting charity for the final series of Celebrity Big Brother.

It is the first series of Big Brother to be associated with the charity since the first ever series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2001, the final of which was one of the Red Nose Day events for that year.

It featured six celebrities taking part over eight days, with Jack Dee being crowned the winner.

In a statement, the broadcaster said: “The first ever Celebrity Big Brother was in aid of Comic Relief so it is fitting that it will again benefit from the viewers vote for the seventh and last series to air on Channel 4.”

Calls during the new series will cost 50p, with 15p going directly to charity.

Ekaterina Ivanova is reportedly planning to appear on Celebrity Big Brother.

Ivanova, who ended her relationship with Ronnie Wood earlier this month, could earn £100,000 for taking part in the series, The Sun claims.

A source said: "Ekaterina is just the type of feisty character we want on the show. She's also very high profile and will no doubt have some great gossip about what life was like living with one of Britain's biggest rock stars. I've no doubt Ronnie will come in for some stick.

"She'll also appeal to younger viewers as she's quite the style icon. And I'm sure a few older male fans will seek her out."

Peter Andre, Ivana Trump and Dane Bowers have also been tipped to appear on the next series of Celebrity Big Brother, which starts on January 3.

BROOKE KINSELLA IS POTENTIAL CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER HOUSEMATE

ACTRESS Brooke Kinsella, who became a campaigner against gun and knife crime, is being targeted as a potential Celeb BB housemate.

The blonde former EastEnder is on a last-minute list for the new series that begins on Sunday.

Jailbird Boy George has already been forced to pull out due to the conditions of his probation.

And we can also reveal there are worries over US brothel queen Heidi Fleiss, also on probation, who may be forced to leave the house at any time to face drug tests by US officials.

Brooke, 26, whose brother Ben, 16, was stabbed to death outside a pub in North London in June 2008, has since devoted much of her time to campaigning.

And it is thought she may consider an approach to appear to help give her cause more publicity – and help save more lives.

An insider said: “She would consider it because it helps get her message out there.”

The need to sign up Brooke, who played troubled Kelly Taylor in EastEnders, is all the more urgent after fears emerged about Fleiss.

She is currently serving three years’ probation in Nevada after being busted for possession of the potent painkiller hydrocodone without a prescription.

One of the terms of that probation is that Fleiss, 43, submits to random drug tests – and US authorities say they will allow her to travel to Britain only if the condition is met.

Last night a pal of the former high-class Hollywood brothel owner declared: “She desperately wants to appear in Celebrity Big Brother.

“But they should know that British authorities might have to interrupt proceedings to take a blood sample to ensure she hasn’t been getting high.”

Another hellish headache for BB bosses could come from Ivana Trump, 60.

The Czech-born ex-wife of tycoon Donald Trump, who won a £15million divorce settlement in 1982, enjoys the high life and rarely travels without a huge entourage.

A former associate in America said yesterday: “Whenever she’s in London she stays in the same suite at The Dorchester.

“Heaven knows what she’ll make of roughing it in the BB house.

“They’ll either have to add some luxurious touches just for her or pay through the nose for her to agree to slum it.”

Kerry Katona has reportedly rejected a £200,000 offer to appear on the final series of Celebrity Big Brother.

The ex-Atomic Kitten singer was offered a chance by Channel 4 executives to appear on the show after a spot became available when the High Court banned Boy George from taking part.

Katona, who has battled with drugs and faced financial difficulties in recent years, was initially thrilled by the offer according to the Daily Star.

However, the ex-singer eventually decided to turn down the offer because she felt that an appearance would cause her to have a nervous breakdown.

A source told the newspaper: “Kerry could have cleared so many debts with this but pals warned her the show loves to mess with people’s minds and can cause meltdowns. Look at Les Dennis and Vanessa Feltz.

“They also thought that she may become a hate target. And as she is fragile she could break down.”

Kerry’s agent confirmed: “She was offered the chance to do it but has not accepted it.”

We can reveal that soon to be homeless Kerry has had a shocking reality check after being REJECTED by Celebrity Big Brother for failing psychological tests.

The faded star had been banking on taking part in next month's Channel 4 show - and hoping to then bank the £250,000 cheque that comes with it.

Friends say the bankrupt mum-of-four was ecstatic after meeting in secret with the show's producers and then sailing through the interview process. But earlier this month she was sent for an assessment with a psychiatrist - as all would-be housemates have to do - and deemed UNFIT to appear.

Last night a close pal of the 29-year-old, told the News of the World: "Kerry is heartbroken - it's the first offer of work she's had in months and she's failed it because she isn't mentally well enough."

Offers of work have dried up for the former pop star since we exposed her for snorting cocaine. Last week we revealed how she will be evicted from her £1.5 million Cheshire pad for failing to keep up with mortgage payments.

And after losing a £250,000- a-year deal with supermarket chain Iceland, Kerry thought Celeb BB would rescue her from financial hell. Our source added: "Kerry believed Big Brother would resurrect her career and make the public warm to her again, like they did when she won I'm A Celeb.

"She has bipolar disorder but controls it with medication. When she came back from the interview with the psychiatrist, she thought she'd done really well.

"But when Kerry got the call saying the deal was off, she was horrified."

The line up for the last ever Celebrity Big Brother is rumoured to include former boy band star Dane Bowers, US rapper MC Hammer, actresses Lindsay Lohan and Jordan's on/off lover Alex Reid.

Boy George was also hoping to be a housemate but a High Court judge banned the singer because he's still on licence after his early release from prison, where he was jailed in January for imprisoning a male escort.

A show insider said: "Kerry would have been a huge boost to ratings. But she failed the psychological tests and we can't take that risk after what happened to Susan Boyle for example."

"Let’s go out with a bang"

Davina McCall has promised that there will be plenty of controversy in the final two series on Channel 4 next year.

The presenter revealed to the Daily Star that Big Brother producers will push the boundaries in both the celebrity and summer editions next year. The bosses aren’t worried about creating scandals such as ‘Fight Night’ in BB5 or the race row from CBB5 as the programme has been axed by Channel 4 anyway.

Davina said: “It’s the last year, so there’s no fear of being taken off air any more as we’re going off air anyway.

“So I say, let’s go out with a bang. We can really push the boundaries and let go a bit more, which will be really good to do. In the past, we’ve had so many worries and concerns when anything controversial has happened. But that won’t be the case this year.

“I suppose we’ve probably already challenged every single taboo, so I’m not sure what else we could do. But with it being the last-ever Big Brother, there will certainly be quite a few surprises along the way.

“They’re really looking to mix things up. And as I said before, we have no fears about what might happen, so hopefully it’ll just make great television.

“I really want the last-ever series to be one of the most memorable. It just has to be and I think it will.”

Davina said that she was devastated by Channel 4’s decision to axe the long running reality show, but she added: “As long as we really push the boundaries and make sure it goes out with a bang, then I’ll be happy.”

Fleiss 'desperate' to appear on CBB



Heidi Fleiss is reportedly "desperate" to appear on the new series of Celebrity Big Brother.

However, the former brothel owner may not be able to join the show because she is currently serving three years' probation for possession of prescription drugs, the Daily Star claims.

US authorities have reportedly said that Fleiss can only travel to Britain if she agrees that she will still submit to random drug tests, one of the conditions of her probation.

Meanwhile, Fleiss may have to leave the Big Brother house to be tested.

"She desperately wants to appear in Celebrity Big Brother," a source said. "But they should know that British authorities might have to interrupt proceedings to take a blood sample to ensure she hasn't been getting high."

“They have spent the year being pampered and enjoying a luxury lifestyle but once those doors to the house slam shut, they may well regret ever entering. We’re going to have some extra live shows fitted into the TV schedules where Davina McCall will call up the house and unveil a shocker for them – a live task.

“To fail could lead to a series of forfeits including losing all your clothes or even facing eviction.”

Celebrity Big Brother starts on Sunday, January 3, on Channel 4.

Russell Grant turns down CBB offer

Astrologer is allergic to air-conditioning

Russell Grant has turned down the opportunity to appear on Celebrity Big Brother on health grounds.

The astrologer was offered £250,000 to appear on the show, however he rejected the offer after taking advice from doctors. Grant suffers from asthma and has an allergy to air-conditioning which doctors warned could cause a fatal reaction inside the BB house.

CBB producers even offered to build Grant a Wendy house in the garden, but the 58 year old declined.

Russell told the Daily Star: “I told them I couldn’t do it because I was allergic to air-conditioning. They said they’d build me a Wendy house. Talk about carry on camping! I’d freeze to death in there in January.”

Meanwhile, WAG Nicola T has been warned by fiancé Simon Walton about appearing on the Channel 4 reality show in case she reveals secrets about their love life.

Kym Marsh hints at CBB appearance



Kym Marsh has hinted on her Twitter page that she will be appearing on Celebrity Big Brother.

The Coronation Street actress initially wrote that she has taken a break from filming the soap and is "off to get a reality check".

She later deleted the message and said that she had been "told off", but continued to drop hints about the series.

"I cannot risk having a hang over [after New Year's Eve], as I have a busy couple of days after!" she posted. "Im only taking a couple of weeks off, You might even see more of me! (sic)"

She continued: "Think it might be a good thing, I wont be near my phone or laptop for a couple of weeks next month! Lets just say 2010 is going to be a BIG year right from the start!"

Marsh said that she couldn't answer "the question so many of you are asking me" before telling her followers that she was going to watch E4, which was broadcasting a programme about Celebrity Big Brother.

Brooke Kinsella, Ivana Trump and MC Hammer have all been linked to the Channel 4 series, which begins on Sunday at 9pm.

Kym Marsh 'ruled out of Celeb BB'



Kym Marsh has been ruled out of appearing on the forthcoming series of Celebrity Big Brother.

A Coronation Street spokeswoman today dismissed recent speculation that the actress was planning to take a break from the soap in order to take part in the Channel 4 reality show.

According to The Sun, Marsh was given a strict dressing-down from CBB bosses for hinting on Twitter about a possible appearance in the show's final series.

However, Weatherfield chiefs have insisted that the Twitter page in question is a fake account.

The spokeswoman said: "It's completely wrong. She doesn't even have a Twitter or Facebook account. She doesn't use any of those accounts at all. They are all fake."

The CBB House Unveiled
Luxury Living?

In past years the Big Brother house has merely had a bit of a dusting down after the summer series in preparation for the celebrity inhabitants. This series of Celebrity Big Brother is very, very different.

The strap line Hell Lies in Others and the flaming logo were a clue but Executive Producer Shirley Jones today revealed that the whole series has been inspired by Dante's Inferno including the décor of the house itself.

She said: "The famous line from Dante’s Inferno is 'Abandon hope all ye who enter here', which has inspired much of what we have done to the house, particularly the entrance which is dark and cavernous with flaming walls. When the celebrities arrive in the house on Sunday night they will definitely wonder what is in store for them, it looks incredibly different from previous years".

In the living area the Dante's Inferno theme continues with gilded panels, black walls and furniture in rich reds and dark wood. There are some luxurious touches too such as faux fur pelts draped over the sofas, cushions emblazoned with diamante skulls and ornate wall sconces illuminating macabre sculptures.

Jones continues "As well as Dante we have been hugely influenced by Sartre’s line 'Hell is other people’ and the house reflects this. Whilst the flames and dark colours might look a bit hellish to some, sometimes your actual hell is the people you’re with so we have removed some of the doors to make everything more open plan, there are very few areas to go to if someone needs to grab five minutes of peace and quiet."

Off the main living space is the kitchen which is full of outsized equipment. Inspired by a hospital morgue the kitchen is clinical and painted ‘autopsy green’. Unlike the summer there is no space in the kitchen to eat and so the celebrities will all have to share the large banqueting table that dominates the dining area.

In the bathroom an imposing roll top bath is centre stage whilst a chaise longue and dressing table mean the conversations can continue whilst the celebrities are busy preening. Jones adds "It looks a bit like the faded opulence of an English country pile".

The shower is still large enough for multiple occupants but unlike the summer series you cannot see in to it allowing the celebrity housemates a few moments of privacy away from the cameras, although hidden microphones mean that all the chatter is still captured for the viewers.

The garden resembles a courtyard, the brick walls and ivy have been designed to hide the cameras and make it feel private and enclosed. If the celebrities really need to get away from the main house however, they need to head to the garden.

In the garden, hides a wood panelled snug. Leather sofas, blankets and a fireplace give the room a relaxed and cosy atmosphere but with only space for a few housemates at a time it is bound to be the room of choice for a private tète a tète or a good gossip, as long as the celebrities find the room at all of course.

The true haven from the house is of course the Diary Room where each celebrity housemate will have the ear of Big Brother to confide in and invariably complain to. As yet this area of the house remains a mystery. What is also a mystery is where exactly the celebrities are going to sleep.

With only a few days until the celebrity Housemates enter the house the signs all point to an explosive series.

The new series of Celebrity Big Brother starts with a live launch at 9pm, Sunday 3rd January on Channel 4.
