Three confirmed as telco partner

Forum user LittleBrother has confirmed for BBBA that Three will be the exclusive telco partner for Big Brother this year.

LittleBrother discovered this image on Three’s Intranet, confirming the relationship with Three and the Big Brother 2008 season:

Three will offer two packs for subscribers: Normal and Premium. Details are still sketchy on the two packs but they will most probably include text message updates, live streaming from the house, images and wallpapers, and access to online forums.

Series length confirmed

Several previously unknown details have come from the discovery of BB08 images on Three’s Intranet by two of our forum users.

Chuppa found the location of the single day images which display at the top of the Big Brother portal - which interestingly stop after day 84.



This most probably confirms that this season will only be 84 days long.

Other details gained from the website include the availability of two separate live streams for Three mobile users: an M rated and MA rated stream.

18 housemates to enter

BBBA’s ever watchful insiders have confirmed that 14 housemates will enter the house on opening night, with an additional four entering in the first week.

Last year, 12 housemates entered on opening night and by the end of the season the producers had gone through a grand total of 24 housemates. In 2006, 15 entered on opening night and a much tamer additional 8 entered during the season run.

Oh, and for the record, there’s no second house this year.

En oo tähän mennessä kattonut Australian BB:tä (en ole onnistunut kanavoimaan sitä tajuntaani yrityksistä huolimatta), mutta tänä vuonna yritän ihan alusta asti. Ja erityisesti toivon hyvää kautta, koska saatan sen viimeisinä viikkoina olla Australiassa itsekin Tuskin sentään BB-talolle raahaudun, finaali-iltana tai muulloin, mut ois se jännää pystyä katsomaan BBAUSia ihan vaan laittamalla telkka päälle.

Heips kaikki, tämä on mun ensimmäinen viesti tällä foorumilla! Oon mieletön Aussi BB:n fani, odotan sen alkua yleensä enemmän kuin kotimaista versiota. Viimiset pari vuotta mulla on ollut live stream, joten paljon on tullut kateltua!! Informaationlähteenä mulla, kuten teilläkin näyttää olevan lähinnä BBB. En tiedä, mistä innostus just aussiversiota kohtaan on lähtenyt (oon myös katsonut jonkun verran UK:ta ja US:aa)...kai se johtuu niiden yleisestä elämänasenteesta ja kielestä. Ei uskois, mutta aussit ja suomalaiset on jossain määrin aika samanlaisia IMO.

Viime vuonna olin Aleishan kannattaja ja hän on mun kaikkien aikojen suosikki. Silloin ”tutustuin” eräällä foorumilla toisiin kannattajiin ja me pidetään edelleen yhteyttä todella paljon. Muutamalla näistä kavereista on yhteyksiä Aleishaan ja Billyyn, joten silloin tällöin saan aina vähän sisäpiiritietoa.

Joka tapauksessa kirjauduin tänne, kun huomasin että onhan Suomessa muitakin Aussi BB-faneja. Vaikka englanti onkin kehittynyt aikalailla tässä vuoden aikana kavereiden kanssa kirjoitellessa, niin on se silti kiva vaihtaa ajatuksia näin ihan kotimaisellakin!

Uudet promot on mun mielestä aivan loistavia! Varsinkin se ensimmäinen – asenne kohdallaan!! Uusin juoru foorumeilla (BBB) on, että ensimmäinen häätö olisi vasta kuukauden päästä BB:n alkamisesta!

Nobody likes being the first evictee, having to leave after just a couple of weeks - or even less in some cases, and being completely forgotten by week 4.

But what if the first evictee didn’t leave until week 4 - well, that’s what Three have suggested in a competition package on their Big Brother site. The prize includes tickets to the “First Sunday Live Eviction“, which on closer inspection of the Terms and Conditions is revealed to be Sunday 25th May - four weeks after the launch.

Other countries have in the past waited over a month for their first real eviction. In Croatia, evictee HMs moved to a secret house, with two being voted back into the main house on Day 50, while in Belgium viewers “evicted” the most popular HMs into a secret second house until just one remained in the main house - to discover rather than being the winner, they were instead the first evictee.

So is it a misprint - or an accidental leak? Either way, Three have now removed the original link after it was spotted by eagle-eyed BBBA forumers.

AND ANOTHER THING…

BBBA’s ever reliable team of insiders have let something else slip - there are no plans for any “Intruders” this year - they’re hoping with the original line up they won’t be required. If this turned out to be true, it would be the first series without any “intruders”.

And when you put together rumours of 18 housemates, shortened series, no evictions for a month, no midweek specials, possible (or not) second houses, it’s very feasible no mid-season intruders will be required.

Toi ei välttämättä oo huonokaan uutinen että eka häätö olis vasta kuukauden päässä, ainakin ehtii paremmin nähä ketä kaikki on miehiään/naisiaan.

Virallinen Big Brother Australia 08 sivusto on auennut!

Ulkonäkö on muuttunut - se ei kuitenkaan varmaan ole yllätys niille, jotka ovat lukenut BBB:a. Tykkään uudesta ulkonäöstä! Näyttää paljon freesimmältä, kun se on ollut niin synkkä viime aikoina!

Sivustolta löytyy muun muassa House Sneak Peak! Eihän noiden kuvien perusteella kokonaisuudesta voi vielä kauheasti sanoa, mutta ihan mielenkiintoiselta näyttää!!

Mie en muutes toivottan siuta tervetulleeks, mut oot silti. (edit: siis myös miun puolesta, väärinkäsityksiä minimoidakseni)

Lähinnä toivoisin että BBBA:n ulkoasu muuttuis, on ollu viimiset pari vuotta aika... kiltisti sanottuna karseen näkönen se sivusto. Käytännöllinen toki, mut ruma.

OS:n värimaailma on tosiaan vaihteeksi vähän vaaleampi, aiemmat tummanpuhuvat sivut on ollu vähän masentavia. Mitä lie aiemmin ajateltu.

Uudet juontajat, bbbm, jännät promot, täysin uus sivusto.. huh, odotukset nousee kohta liian korkeelle. Pitää alkaa varautua pettymykseen, jota toivottavasti ei tule.

Big Brother uncut material back for Big Mouth



Big Brother has confirmed its Big Mouth edition will incorporate the racy material it once screened in Uncut.

Promising "nothing will be off limits" the show is hosted by Tony Squires and Rebecca Wilson. There will be former housemates and guests including Tim Brunero (BB 2005) and Paul Dyer (BB 2004).

TEN says with it's MA15+ classification and where "editorially justified" it will utilise unseen footage from the house and be a forum for adult content to be discussed openly. "Exclusive scenes, access all areas, dissing the dirt on the housemates, the good, the bad and the ugly, no topic will be too hot to handle for the Big Mouth panel." Write that down now in case they ever avoid a subject, folks!

Uncut and Up Late are not returning in previous formats.

Meanwhile the first Sunday (May 4) edition of BB is billed as a 'Special Presentation.' TEN says "Is Big Brother set to shake the housemates out of their comfort zones? Who will be eliminated tonight? Big Brother always has a twist in store...."

Traditionally the first eviction has been the second Sunday of the series, allowing the housemates to nominate on the second Monday (likely May 5).

Sticky hair day

Sure, it’s understandable that with the kind of reputation BB has these days some family & friends may not always be thrilled about their loved ones going on the show. But did this Dad go a bit too far to keep his son out of the BB House?

An article in The Advertiser explains how a potential HM apparently got superglue poured all over his head by his father, in an attempt to stop him leaving to get his publicity shots taken. But that wasn’t enough and the son went anyway, no doubt hoping the makeup team would rise to the occasion and work some magic.

To the son: well done, BBBA admires your determination. To the dad: Don’t expect any nice presents if your kid goes on to win!

Terri ready to take on tearaway in Big Brother series

UNIMPRESSED by the younger generation, Terri can't wait to get inside the Big Brother house.
Meet two of the new Big Brother housemates – tearaway teen Corey Worthington and Terri, a 53-year-old grandmother who idolises Pauline Hanson.

It's understood Ten producers have all but stitched up a deal with Worthington's agent Max Markson to have the flaxen-haired hellraiser on the show as an intruder while the network has confirmed the inclusion of working-class Terri who will be the oldest person to take part.

Spies say Worthington will be sent into the house with a directive to "stir things up".

It already seems to be working, with family groups condemning the idea.

Australian Family Association's Angela Conway has described the decision as "tediously predictable" and said Worthington's appearance would send a congratulatory message to him and other young members of Australia's "boozy culture".

"But Big Brother has never been known for its social responsibility or for encouraging positive behaviour," she said.

Terri is expected to do her fair share of stirring when she enters the Dreamworld compound next Monday.

Describing herself as an atheist with "extreme right-wing leanings", she's told producers she grew up in poverty and cites Hanson as her idol. She also says she's frustrated with the younger generation.

One big blanket

All housemates in the Big Brother house this year will have to share one blanket… except for one.

The single housemate that has their own blanket will have their own home - but it’s not a separate room or a separate house.

Additionally, one housemate will be evicted in the first night.

An Adelaide newspaper releases info on second housemate

The Adelaide Advertiser has today run a story on the identity of the housemate that will be revealed tonight as part of Ten’s pre-season campaign: Dixie.

Dixie is a 21-year-old Aboriginal mental health worker from NSW, who says she is “boy crazy” but has never had a boyfriend because she can’t commit.
